Melinda Gate’s TEDx talk last month points to the critical link between strategic marketing and the success of nonprofit efforts. As she said, it’s not enough to expect people to take action simply because we want them to. We must speak to deep aspirations and desires.

Very good points made my Melinda. I like what you pulled out, “it’s not enough to expect people to take action simply because we want them to. We must speak to deep aspirations and desires.” If we are unsuccessful in moving others to understanding about the why of doing something we will most likely be successful in persuading them to join in our cause.
