The Insight
Bay Area Discovery Museum could do more to speak to the systemic educational inequity in their community. Families of color and low income families lack the same opportunities in early educational experiences given to their white or more affluent counterparts. So together, we set a bold vision to address these inequities.
The Journey
In partnership with the board and staff, we helped the museum articulate the world they imagine. A world in which every child grows and thrives through joyful play. This bold and inclusive vision sets the tone for their strategic plan and integrated brand strategy. By literally and figuratively swinging the doors of the museum open to the entire Bay Area population, they invite change. Together, we co-created a new visual identity and website to deliver on that promise while keeping their unique, playful magic.
The Impact
The powerful 5-year strategic commitments we helped the museum set forth guides them to be an inspiring early childhood education partner for all Bay Area families. The museum addresses the needs of young children, extends joyful play experiences into schools, and builds a child-centric community that nurtures future generations for the betterment of all. That’s a plan their community is ignited to help them achieve.
I love how your approach not only involves the board in creating the strategic plan, but in delivering on it. This was a great outcome, and everyone feels really inspired about our work’s increased impact on the children of our broader community.
