Scott Kirkwood has spent nearly 20 years crafting copy and overseeing creative work for magazines, videos, and advertisements that help nonprofits and corporate “do gooders” advance their work.
Scott began his writing career with the Humane Society of the United States and went on to spend 11 years as a magazine editor and creative director with the National Parks Conservation Association, where he was lucky enough to visit Denali, Everglades, Yellowstone, and many other parks while “on the clock.” As creative director at Vermilion, a Boulder design firm, he worked with clients including Coaching Corps, the Mott Foundation, the University of Colorado, and the town of Vail.
A regular contributor to graphic design blogs and publications including Adobe Create, HOW Magazine, and Communication Arts, Scott has interviewed some of the most talented illustrators and graphic designers in the country. When he’s not at a computer, he can usually be found mountain biking in Boulder, playing pick-up soccer in Denver, or walking his dog along Cherry Creek.
