As Mission Minded’s Design Director, I’ll be attending Compostmodern 2011 January 22-23. Presented by AIGA San Francisco, Compostmodern is an interdisciplinary design conference dedicated to transforming products, industries and lives through sustainable design choices.

At the conference, here are a few questions I’ll have on my mind:

  1. It’s not just the environment, it’s how we think. More importantly, as communicators it’s how we influence others to think. How can nonprofits meet their goals while employing and encouraging sustainable practices?
  2. Less print, more social media seems like a no-brainer, but is it the best solution? What’s the carbon footprint on electronic media? Is there a compromise for promoting good?
  3. Is any nonprofit organization too small or any issue too urgent to not be concerned with sustainability?
