In 2007, Mayor Gavin Newsom declared that San Francisco would revitalize some of the city’s most challenged public housing sites. He committed to enlivening the whole community, not to just constructing new buildings. HOPE SF was designed to be more than a housing project—it was designed to create opportunities to improve lives. Without federal funding, the project needed serious support from donors. Mission Minded helped create the brand, tagline, key messages, website, and fundraising case that HOPE SF needed to encourage philanthropists and local residents alike to help breathe life into five San Francisco neighborhoods.
