10,000 Degrees believes that everyone should have a chance at college.
The 25-year-old scholarship program provides information and financial support to Marin
County, California students with limited resources to help them achieve their dreams of
education after high school.

10,000 Degrees needed help communicating about the challenges they faced in helping low-income students get to college.

Mission Minded began by helping 10,000 Degrees develop key messages, sound bites and a new tagline. Key messages and sound bites are important tools that help everyone from staff to board to volunteers speak consistently and effectively about why 10,000 Degrees is worthy of donor dollars.
Mission Minded then led training for staff and board members. The training included practice using the newly developed messages to help the leaders feel comfortable communicating about their work and its impact on students in Marin.

Board members and staff now use these messages to concisely explain the value of their work and why the organization’s programs are critically important to the Marin community.
